On Thursday 18 March, three members of the GCL team attended the 13th World Business Dialogue at Cologne University, and ran a mini-Social Business Lab (SBL) there in the afternoon. The World Business Dialogue is an event which brings together over 300 students from all over the world, to meet and discuss a different business-based theme every year. This year's theme was "The End to Anything Goes".
Over 25 students attended the SBL, and learned about social business, the GCL, and some real examples of social business joint ventures that exist between Grameen and various companies worldwide.
They also split into four smaller groups, and actively brainstormed their own social business ideas to solve problems such as unequal access to the market for women in Ghana; access to water in Colombia; energy problems in Haiti; and access to education for migrant families in China.
