On Friday 6 November, Professor Yunus as well as Saskia Bruysten, Director of the Grameen Creative Lab, were in Berlin to attend the Global Perspectives Conference organized by the Berlin Civil Society Center.
Prof. Yunus participated in a panel discussion entitled "Climate Change, Poverty and Human Rights: People Suffering in the Global Crisis", along with Walter Fust (Director General, Global Humanitarian Forum), Hans Joachim Schellnhuber CBE (Director, Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research), Sanjeev Khagram, (Harvard Business School Social Enterprise Program). The panel was chaired by Irene Khan (Secretary General, Amnesty International).
Saskia Bruysten also co-Chaired a work session later that morning, entitled "Social Business: Civil Society's Answer to the Crisis?", together with Dean Hirsch (World Vision International). Both the work session and the panel discussion generated much stimulating and productive discussion.
