First Social Business Lab in 2010

This past weekend we had an interesting and inspiring social business lab, which is an event and environment where people from all different backgrounds can gather together to learn more about social business, network, and discuss new ideas for social businesses.

The Grameen Creative Lab has held approximately 10 labs so far - and this was the first in the new year. It was held at the Alte Schmelze in Wiesbaden, and took place over a time period of 24 hours - starting on Friday at 5pm, and going until Saturday evening at 5pm (don't worry, we went home and slept inbetween!). Over 60 participants came from all over Germany, and even from France and Switzerland.
After learning the basic principles of social business, and hearing exciting news about current and new social business initiatives underway, on Saturday we broke up into smaller working groups to focus on a specific sector, and had the challenge of coming up with our own social business initiative.

Groups presented interesting and innovative new concepts, we heard touching stories of participants' own struggles, and all left on Saturday evening with a new energy, new contacts, and a renewed purpose and focus.
A big thank you to all who made the effort to attend, and who gave up half of their precious weekend to join us in our goal to eradicate poverty!
