14.07.2010 // Prof. Yunus discusses social business opportunities in Japan

The second day in Tokyo was just as exciting as the first one.

The morning began with an interview with the largest public broadcast station in Japan, the Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK) and a meeting with women entrepreneurs and directors.

Afterwards, the public symposium hosted by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) took place with Prof. Yunus as the keynote speaker, who was precisely pointing out the differences between social business and the bop business. Following his speech, Mr. Faber from Danone further highlighted the differences by giving an insight from the perspective of an international company.

Speaking about Danone, they organized a Social Business Seminar with university students from Tokyo. But even then the day was not finished yet and in the evening an executive meeting took place with key persons from businesses, the government and academia discussing about social business opportunities in Japan and globally.
