We, the Grameen Creative Lab (GCL), are a joint venture between the Yunus Centre (Bangladesh) and circ responsibility (Germany). Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus, and Hans Reitz - founder and creative director of circ responsibility - founded the GCL with the vision to eradicate poverty by accelerating social business. We are the first social business GmbH in Germany!
- We interact with the interest community through books, articles, and events on social business
- We incubate social business ideas through brainstorming labs, academic research and social business experiments
- We create social businesses by advising companies on how to set up social business joint ventures with Grameen worldwide, and support investors to create social business funds
Currently we are a team of 5 professionals with extensive background in strategy consulting, entrepreneurship, and creative communication. We report directly to Professor Yunus, and are in regular contact with him. The GCL is located in Wiesbaden, Germany, and is a member of the Grameen family of businesses - a network of 28 companies and more than 50,000 employees. Grameen concepts have been implemented in more than 50 countries around the world.
GCL's first year of existence has been very exciting, challenging and most of all - a lot of fun! We have initiated various partnerships with international organizations, universities and public entities based on the seven principles of social business, all the while never losing our focus of serving the needs of the poorest. We have also organized major events such as the first Global Grameen Meeting, where major actors gather together to discuss Grameen social business initiatives. GCL is playing a key role in the social business movement in the world, and therefore we want to expand our team to continue our journey towards our vision of eradicating poverty by 2030!
