The Grameen Creative Lab (GCL) is a social business founded by Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Muhammad Yunus and serial entrepreneur Hans Reitz. The company’s vision is to serve society’s most pressing needs. Leading by example, GCL accelerates and spreads the social business movement worldwide through three main activities:
 

  • Creating social businesses by advising companies, entrepreneurs, civil society organizations and governments on how to set up and support social businesses, and assisting investors wishing to create social business funds.
  • Incubating social business ideas through brainstorming labs, by initiating academic research and by conducting social business experiments.
  • Interacting with the interest community through communication and events on social business.

 
Reporting directly to Professor Yunus, GCL is currently a team of 20 people with backgrounds in strategy consulting, entrepreneurship, international development and creative communication. GCL is located in Wiesbaden, Germany, and is a member of the Grameen family of businesses – a network of over 40 companies and more than 50,000 employees. Grameen concepts have been implemented in more than 50 countries around the world.

The Grameen Creative Lab - Passion for Social Business

What we look for:
GCL is looking for talented and motivated individuals who want to join our team as volunteer consultants and who:
 

  • Share GCL's vision to serve society’s needs and have experience or a demonstrated interest in social issues (civil society, government...)
  • Have at least two years’ relevant professional experience, e.g. business, professional services (consulting, finance...) or international economic development
  • Have demonstrated outstanding performance in their career and during their studies
  • Are passionate and call things into question
  • Are analytical, numerate, organized, efficient, thorough and show strong initiative
  • Have high social competencies to meet the challenges of an international working environment and to work in teams
  • Are fluent in English and German
  • Are available full-time for a minimum of 3 months
  • Last but not least: have a good sense of humour and a positive outlook
